Exploring Kelingking Beach: Everything You Need to Know
Are you planning a trip to Indonesia anytime soon? If so, be sure to add Nusa Penida to your itinerary! This beautiful island is quickly gaining popularity among tourists, mainly due to its famous T-Rex lookalike, Kelingking Beach and Viewpoint.
After spending 10 days exploring Indonesia, my travel companions and I decided to spend our last couple of days on Nusa Penida. The island is just a short ferry ride away from mainland Bali, making it a convenient and must-visit destination.
To visit Kelingking Beach and Viewpoint, you will need to catch a fast boat from the main port of Sanur on Bali. The ticket prices can range from 300,000-400,000 rp for a return ticket, but trust me, the experience is well worth it! The one-hour boat ride offers stunning views and even includes complimentary water for passengers.
Once you arrive on Nusa Penida, you can easily make your way to Kelingking Viewpoint and Beach. If you’re not on an organized tour and prefer to explore by scooter, be prepared for a rough ride. The roads on Nusa Penida are still under development, so expect potholes and gravel paths along the way.
Entrance to Kelingking costs just 5000 rp per person, a small price to pay for access to such a breathtaking viewpoint. After taking in the stunning sights, you can enjoy a meal at one of the nearby warungs, where you can find delicious and affordable Indonesian dishes like mie goreng and nasi goreng.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try to make your way down to Kelingking Beach. The steps leading down are steep and can be challenging, but the stunning views are worth every step. Just be sure to allow plenty of time for the climb and watch out for monkeys along the way.
During our stay on Nusa Penida, we chose to stay at Semabu Hills, a luxurious hotel with an infinity pool, spacious rooms, and excellent room service. If you’re looking for a quieter, less crowded alternative to mainland Bali, Nusa Penida is the perfect destination.
Overall, our time on Nusa Penida was unforgettable. From the stunning views at Kelingking to the relaxing atmosphere on the island, it’s a destination that should not be missed. So, if you’re planning a trip to Indonesia, be sure to include Nusa Penida in your travel plans for a truly magical experience.
