Three individuals in Pune abduct and kill engineering student over ransom demands – Financial desperation drives culprits
The recent horrifying incident in Pune, where three individuals kidnapped and killed engineering student Bhagyashri Sude for ransom demands, has left the city in shock. The culprits, identified as Shivam Fulawale, Suresh Indure, and Sagar Jadhav, were known to the victim as college acquaintances, making the crime even more tragic.
What drove these individuals to commit such a heinous act? According to police reports, the trio were facing financial difficulties and were burdened with debts. In a desperate attempt to make quick money, they resorted to kidnapping Bhagyashri with the intention of extorting a ransom of Rs 9 lakh from her family.
The abduction took place on March 30 in the Viman Nagar area of Pune, where the victim was strangled to death by the perpetrators. Her body was then buried on the outskirts of Ahmednagar, and the ransom demand was made by sending a message to her parents.
Thankfully, due to prompt action by the police following a missing person report filed by Bhagyashri’s parents, the culprits were apprehended. Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to the crime, leading to the discovery of the victim’s body.
The three accused have been remanded to police custody until April 15, with investigations still ongoing. The senseless act has left the community reeling, as they try to come to terms with the loss of a promising young student.
