Renovating a new home is an exciting and daunting task, especially during a pandemic. However, for blogger Taylor, moving into her new semi-detached Victorian house in Brighton, UK, amidst the chaos of 2020 was an impulsive decision that she doesn’t regret.
The first room to receive her attention is the living room, where she spends most of her time. With original Victorian features like high ceilings, a bay window, intricate cornicing, and a beautiful ceiling rose, the room has great potential. Taylor plans to strip back the original wide floorboards, find the perfect warm white paint for the walls, and add hints of black for interest.
She’s already made some progress by finding a marble surround and vintage cabinet on Facebook Marketplace. The next item on her list is a comfortable and stylish sofa, but with lockdown restrictions, she’ll have to wait for the showrooms to open again.
